Springtime Stories
Date: 8 May 2013
Time: 10-11am
Location: Lake County Discovery Museum (LCDM)
Age Group; 2-5 years old, caregivers
Theme: Seasons - Spring
Objectives:
For some reason, when I was writing up this lesson plan, I really wanted to do a song. I thought back to Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory and the Musical & Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligences. In my previous lessons, I followed the same structure of intro, story, and a craft. But this time, I decided to change things up a little bit. I added a short exploration of nature, a song, and an extra craft activity.
The song was from "The Learning Station". I didn't use the last verse about the frog, and I added additional body movements to keep the children engaged. Overall, the song caught on fast and soon some of the caregivers were also dancing along!
Time went by so quickly and everyone was delighted by the end of the program.
