Grant Writing - Textile Museum
GOAL: To write a grant for the Textile Museum's 41st Fall Symposium.
BACKGROUND: Seven of my classmates, including me, were charged with the task of writing a grant for the Textile Museum's 41st Fall Symposium. We followed the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers Common Application 2012 as our guideline. We even proposed a budget, a timeline, and a possible list of funders for the client.
The 41st Fall Symposium, a 3-day event, will be the last symposium at The Textile Museum's historic S street location. It will be in conjunction with the exhibition, Out of Southeast Asia: Art that Sustains. It will feature master artists from rural areas of Indonesia and Loas. It will also invite experts from all over the world. The symposium's agenda will consist of evening receptions, lectures, a panel discussion and debate, a curator-led tour of the exhibition, and a show-and-tell where participants share their collections of textiles.
If you would like my sample of the proposal, please email.
Note: This proposal has not been officially submitted to any grantmaker; therefore it is NOT meant to be disseminated or publicized.
